Time flies. I can’t believe that Sterling is exactly 3 months today! It seems it was yesterday we brought him from the hospital. The last three months seem like a blur between not a whole lot of sleeping, pumping milk, feeding Basia and trying to keep the house clean (failing miserably there). I promised myself to start posting something on both of the kids weekly – something funny they did, new skill learned or any important events. When I look back I would like to remember more than when Sterling pooped last (since poor guy is still having issues) or how many calories Basia eat (or didn’t eat today). I also want our families to get an inside view of the kids at home (especially those in Poland since they only get to see them through Skype once a week) and give the kids a chance to learn about the time ‘when there were little’ as Basia says. I will be posting the same message in both Polish and English – so Babcia and Dziadek don’t have to ask Uncle Robert for help with translating! I need to figure out how to add pictures and videos to the posts as well, so hopefully these will be fun to read. If you are interested in something specific they do, let me know and I will add posts on these subjects…

Last week:

Sterling learned how to put his fingers in his mouth. It’s  fun to watch him – he is just so intense in figuring out stuff for himself! His favorite thing to do is to roll on his side and suck on his thumb until he falls asleep. In general he is a happy, very talkative baby (must have both Grandmas’ genes there) :), except when he can’t poop!  He can spend up to 30 minutes just ‘talking’ to his favorite toy attached to the exercise mat. He and I usually have morning ‘conversations’ after he eats his bottle around 10 AM. I love how his little faces lights up when he sees me. It makes all the hard work worth everything

Basia is adjusting being a Big Sister. Despite the fact that she is becoming an independent 3 year old, she needs a lot of extra attention lately. She frequently wants to be picked up or hugged – I am sure that she just wants to know that we ‘still’ love her. Yesterday she picked up a dial that Grandma gave us before she was born – when you spin the arm it shows who is supposed to be taking care of the newborn baby. Most of the fields say ‘Mom’, two “Dad’ and there is one tiny one for Grandma and Grandpa – ha! Anyway, Basia picked it up and said ‘This shows who loves me’. Enough said- my heart is melting

Czas mija bardzo szybko. Nie moge uwierzyc ze Sterus skonczyl dzisiaj 3 miesiace. Wydaje sie jakby to bylo wczoraj kiedy przynieslismy go ze szpitala. Ostatnie 3 miesiace minely znakiem ciaglego zmeczenia – malo snu, odciaganie mleka dla Sterusia, karmienie Basi I sprzatanie domu (I tak jest balagan cokolwiek robie!). Postanowilam ze zaczne umieszczac krotkie opowiesci o tym co dzieci zrobily przez ostatni tydzien – cos smiesznego, czego sie nowego nauczyly albo cos o jakis waznym wydarzeniu. Kiedy spojrze na te wczesne lata chcialabym pamietac cos wiecej niz kiedy Sterus zrobil kupe (biedak jeszcze sie meczy), albo ile kalori Basia zjadla (lub nie zjadla dzisiaj.) Chcilabym rowniez aby nasze rodziny mialy okazje zobaczyc co dzieci robia u nas w domu (szczegolnie w Polsce). Bede umieszczac opisy zarowno po angielsku I po polsku zeby wujek Robert nie musial tlumaczyc dla Babci I Dziadka! Postaram sie rowniez dodac zdjecia I wideo zeby to byly ciekawe opisy. Jesli ktos z rodziny chcialby dowiedziec sie o czyms szczegolnym, prosze zapytac to dodam

W ostatnim tygodniu

Sterus nauczyl sie wkladac rece to buzi. Bardzo lubie go ogladac  – jest on bardzo skupiony kiedy uczy sie nowych rzeczy  Jego ulubiona rzeca jest ostatnio polozenie sie na boku I ssanie kciuka – az do momentu kiedy zasnie. Ogolnie jest on pogodnym I gadatliwym dzieckiem (to chyba geny obydwu Babc!) z wyjatkiem kiedy nie moze sie zalatwic ( wtedy jest bardzo nieszczesliwy). Moze spedzic 30 minut ‘rozmawiajac’ ze swoja ulubiona zabawka. Kazdego rana okolo 10 rano kiedy je mamy powazne ‘rozmowy’. Uwielbiam jak jego buzia sie usmiecha kiedy mnie widzi – ciezka praca wychowywania dziecka jest wtedy warta wszsytkiego

Basia w dalszym ciagu dostosowywuje sie do bycia 2 dzieckiem w domu. Mimo ze staje sie bardziej niezalezna jak 3 latek, w dalszym ciagu potrzeba jej poswiecic duzo czasu I okazac uczucia. Ostatnio dosyc czesto chce byc podniesiona I przytulona – wydaje mi sie ze chce wiedziec ze my ‘nadal’ ja kochamy. Wczoraj znalazla stary prezent od Babci Betty – male kolo pokazuje kto sie ma zajmowac malym dzieckiem po porodzie. Wiekszosc pol jest nazwana ‘mama’, dwa maja ‘tata’ I jedno malutnie jest nazwane ‘babcia/dziadek’. Mialbyc zart ale sie okazalo prawda, bo mama (czyli ja) zajmuje sie dziecmi prawie zawsze. Tak czy inaczej Basia podniosla to kolko, pokazala mi I mowi ‘Mama, to kolko pokazuje kto mnie kocha!’ No I jak nie usciskac takiego madrego dziecka????
